IGI Certification

When purchasing a diamond, understanding its quality and authenticity is crucial. This is where the International Gemological Institute (IGI) steps in. Recognized globally for its expertise, IGI evaluates and certifies the quality of gemstones and jewelry, offering peace of mind to buyers.

What is IGI?

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is a premier certifying body renowned for its meticulous assessment and grading of diamonds, colored gemstones, and pearls. IGI's certifications are trusted worldwide, providing a reliable guarantee of a gemstone's quality and authenticity.

The IGI Certification Process

During the IGI certification process, expert gemologists carefully examine the characteristics of each gemstone. The assessment includes:

  • Carat Weight: The weight of the diamond, measured in carats.
  • Color Grade: The diamond’s color, graded on a scale from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown).
  • Clarity Grade: The presence of any internal or external flaws, with grades ranging from Flawless (FL) to Included (I).
  • Cut Grade: The quality of the diamond’s cut, which affects its brilliance and sparkle.

The Value of an IGI Certificate

An IGI certificate serves as a testament to your diamond’s authenticity and quality. Whether you are purchasing a diamond for an engagement ring, a special occasion, or as an investment, an IGI certification ensures that you are making an informed decision.
